A curious accident occurred at the "Mecum" classic car auction in the USA.
One of the lots crashed directly in the auction hall. As a result, a 1970 collector car, a Ford Mustang, was damaged and requires repair.
The incident happened during a large-scale auction in Indianapolis. The vintage Ford Mustang Mach I crashed while being driven onto the display area.
According to witnesses, the car suddenly accelerated and hit a pillar. The driver reported that the Mustang's gas pedal got stuck.
The front of the car suffered serious damage. The radiator grille, headlights, and hood were destroyed.
Interestingly, the Ford Mustang Mach I had recently undergone restoration. It is a rare "Cobra Jet" version equipped with a 7-liter V8 engine. Although the engine is documented at 335 horsepower, its actual power is believed to be around 400 hp. It is noted that in the 1970s in the US, insurance premiums depended on engine power, so the figure was deliberately understated.
The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and can reach over 200 km/h.
