Iran is trying to unite Middle Eastern countries in an anti-US alliance and has launched a broad political campaign against Donald Trump.
Fox News reports, citing an unnamed analyst, that this activity was observed hours after Trump proposed expanding the Abraham Accords.
The analyst claims Tehran is positioning itself as the region's "new sheriff" while pressuring Gulf states to choose between the US security system and the concept of a "new Islamic civilization."
Earlier, Trump held phone talks with leaders of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain to discuss expanding the 2020 Abraham Accords.
Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, called for forming a "new Islamic civilization" and cooperation among Muslim countries.
According to the analyst, Tehran opposes the normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel and tries to promote its own regional order model.
Meanwhile, Gulf states remain cautious, maintaining limited contact channels with Iran and closely watching the development of talks between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing regional tensions.
