A civilian cargo ship sailing in the Black Sea was targeted by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The attack resulted in one fatality.
The incident occurred on the ship "Victress", flying the Panamanian flag and owned by a Turkish national. A strong fire broke out immediately after the strike.
Ukrainian Navy boats arrived and launched a rescue operation for the crew. The ship had nine crew members, including citizens of Egypt, Turkey, and India.
Ukrainian officials claim Russia is behind the attack. According to a statement, a 58-year-old Egyptian chef lost his life, while eight sailors were evacuated. Ships under Palau and Belize flags were also targeted but with no casualties.
