The Indian government has launched a dangerous mission in Everest's "death zone."
The body of the climber known as "Green Boots," who died in a blizzard in 1996, will be brought down.
For years, the remains were thought to be Tsewang Paljor, but official documents indicate Dorje Morup.
The frozen body, with gear, weighs up to 200 kg. A team of six Sherpas will conduct the operation.
Costing $150,000, the operation must be completed by October this year.
Experts note the extreme risk to rescuers. "Green Boots" has served as a grim landmark for decades.
