Essential tire care tips for hot weather: check pressure, take breaks, avoid overloading, and ensure safety.

Car tires are designed to operate in various temperature conditions. According to standards, summer tires can withstand a maximum ambient temperature of 55°C. However, when the car is moving, the degree of tire heating is significantly higher than the air temperature.

Oxu.Az reports that this information was published by "Izvestia", citing experts from the "Cordiant" group of companies. According to experts, the highest temperature indicators are recorded when several factors coincide: extreme heat, hot asphalt, overloading of the vehicle, sustained high speed, or frequent braking.

This is considered the most difficult test for tires. When driving on the highway, the tire heats up due to friction, and during braking, it additionally receives heat from the brake system components. In such extreme conditions, the treads of overheated tires wear out more intensively. Also, there is an increased risk of internal damage in tires that have been previously repaired or have low pressure. If the tire pressure drops to 1-1.5 atmospheres (which is not always visually noticeable), the already hot tire will accumulate even more heat.

Experts warn that this can lead to tire failure or explosion while driving. It should be noted that an increase in tire pressure in hot weather is completely normal, and artificially reducing this pressure is not recommended.

The golden rule of using tires in hot weather is to always check the pressure with a gauge when the tires are cold before starting a trip. At the same time, if you are driving at high speed, it is recommended to stop every 3-4 hours for a 30-minute break. The higher the speed, the more frequent and longer the stops should be.
