The US tax authorities are banned from opening new court cases and conducting tax audits against President Donald Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization.
This decision is part of a settlement agreement ending Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
According to the Financial Times, the US Department of Justice confirmed the ruling. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the US releases the plaintiffs from all demands and permanently waives the right to file any claims against them.
A Justice Department official emphasized that the ban applies only to tax audits conducted so far.
