When hygiene rules are not followed during ice preparation, iced drinks can become a source of intestinal infections.
Russian expert Asiyat Abdullayeva told "RT" that common violations include using unboiled tap water, dirty ice generators, and unwashed hands.
Safe ice is made only from bottled or boiled water. It should be stored in airtight containers and kept away from raw meat or fish.
Cloudy or odorous ice indicates poor quality. Avoid drinks made from such ice. Safe ice is clear and clean.
