US military forces have struck another boat allegedly used by drug traffickers in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in two deaths.
According to Oxu.Az, the information was released by the US Southern Command. In a statement published on social media platform X, the command said:
"Under the order of Southern Command chief Francis Donovan, the 'Southern Spear' joint operational group struck a vessel on June 3. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was traveling along known drug trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific and was being used for narcotrafficking."
In late May, The New York Times reported that the number of deaths from US strikes on boats allegedly belonging to drug cartels had exceeded 200.
It is worth noting that Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth announced the launch of Operation "Southern Spear" in November 2025, aimed at combating drug cartels.
