Azerbaijan has recorded a decrease in mortgage lending. In January-May 2026, the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund issued 200 million manats in loans, which is 2.2% less than the same period last year.
According to Oxu.Az, Baku TV's video report highlights this trend. During the reporting period, the volume of refinanced loans decreased by 33.3% to 100.4 million manats.
Economist Vugar Oruc commented that the real estate market is not solely dependent on mortgage lending. While the decline in mortgage loans impacts home sales, its effect is not significant enough to cause major changes in the market.
It is noted that real estate remains one of the main investment instruments, and interest in this sector is expected to continue.
