The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported on Sunday that a drone strike damaged the exterior of a turbine building at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine.
The IAEA team stationed at the Russian-held facility confirmed the damage to the turbine building structure. The plant is located in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region.
The agency stated that radiation levels at the site remained normal after the incident. The IAEA maintains a team of inspectors at the facility to monitor safety conditions.
The Zaporizhzhia plant is Europe's largest nuclear facility. Russian forces have controlled the site since the early stages of the conflict with Ukraine.
The IAEA did not provide details on the source of the drone strike or the extent of structural damage to the turbine building.
