About 3,500 workers on New York’s Long Island Rail Road ended their strike after a wage deal was reached, Governor Kathy Hochul announced.
Rail service resumes Tuesday at noon.
The workers, represented by five unions, began the strike Saturday to demand a new contract. They had not received raises in three years.
Over 250,000 trips are taken daily on the LIRR. During the strike, officials encouraged remote work and provided alternative transport.
The last LIRR strike was in 1994.
