The anticipated agreement between the United States and Iran regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz has not yet been reached. Washington believes it may take up to a week for the deal to be finalized. The delay is due to slow decision-making within Iran.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported in a video by Baku TV.
"The New York Post," citing US government sources, writes that if Tehran does not comply with Donald Trump's conditions, Washington could withdraw from the agreement. The US appears unwilling to make concessions without compliance.
The publication also claims that Khamenei is currently in an unknown location, and Iranian officials have limited access to him. While unconfirmed, this is presented as a key political detail explaining the delay.
Middle East expert Vugar Zifaroglu commented: "Khamenei's hiding, limited communication due to security, and decision-making through intermediaries automatically slow the diplomatic process. This situation creates both risk and tactical advantage for the US."
