President Ilham Aliyev spoke at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Development Bank Group's 2026 Annual Meetings.
He stated that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group wanted our lands to remain under Armenian occupation. "They could have forced Armenia to liberate Azerbaijani territories, but they did not want to. That was their joint decision. However, we changed those plans."
The President noted that he conducted negotiations for 17 years, but the great powers did not accept the truth. "We said: 'Justice is on our side.' In response, they said: 'Go and reach an agreement, you cannot start a war, you will face sanctions.'"
