The Baku-Tbilisi train journey takes 9 hours due to poor railway infrastructure in Georgia.

Azar Farajov of Azerbaijan Railways said the train speed in Georgia will be 50 km/h. The Gardabani-Tbilisi section has low speed limits.

In Azerbaijan, the train travels at 100 km/h. Border checks take 60 minutes in each country, adding to travel time.

The train departs Baku daily at 23:10 and arrives in Tbilisi at 08:41 the next morning.
