More than 9 tons of baby food imported into Azerbaijan has been returned to exporting countries due to hazardous toxins.
Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of the Food Safety Agency (AQTA), stated that out of the returned products, 2,568 kg came from Turkey, 2,400 kg from Georgia, and 4,435 kg from Switzerland.
Laboratory tests revealed dangerous toxins in the baby food, leading to the products being sent back. Additionally, over 100 kg of baby food was deemed unfit and destroyed.
Furthermore, 78 sausage and frankfurter samples from 46 enterprises showed violations. In 10 cases, horse DNA was found in the products.
Tahmazli emphasized the importance of hygienic regulation in food safety.
