Azerbaijan plans to start producing its first local veterinary vaccine by the end of this year. The news was reported by Oxu.Az.
Goshgar Tahmezli, head of the Food Safety Agency, stated that the vaccines, named "Rabisafe", will be used against rabies.
The vaccines are being produced at the Food Safety Institute's facility in Guba. Starting next year, Azerbaijan will use its own vaccines for rabies vaccination of wild and domestic animals.
For wild animals, vaccination through bait is planned. The vaccines, which meet international standards, are intended for export in the future.
