Gunel Ismayilova contacted Baku TV, stating she separated from her husband in 2022. After the divorce, she continued living in the same house for a while, but later events led to her eviction.
According to Ismayilova, the house had no official documents, and the property was registered under her former mother-in-law's name. She claims that a probate case was deliberately opened to limit her right to live there, and the house was transferred to her former sister-in-law.
The Sabunchu District Court did not recognize her right to reside. The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the decision. While she was at work, she received a call from bailiffs informing her of eviction.
Her former sister-in-law denies the allegations, stating that the process lasted three years and was resolved legally. The Supreme Court also rejected the residency claim.
Lawyer Hikmat Aliyev explains that legally binding court decisions are mandatory. The same issue cannot be re-litigated between the same parties.
