Residents of Goygol district's Ashigli village complain that their pasture lands are being seized by people from other regions.
According to them, large herds have occupied the pastures, making it extremely difficult for locals to graze their livestock.
"We cannot keep cattle here. We cannot even visit the cemetery. Dogs bark at people passing by. This is unacceptable. We are Muslims. Shouldn't we visit the cemetery? Five dogs attacked my neighbor's son; we barely chased them away with a stick," said one resident.
They note that after recent rains, even the newly grown grass is eaten by the large herds, causing a shortage of fodder for local animals.
According to Baku TV, the representative office of Goygol District Executive Power in Ashigli administrative district stated that the complained farmer, Elman Telmanov, is a resident of Ashigli and temporarily keeps cattle and small livestock on the village territory.
It was emphasized that he uses the village's common pastures and grasslands in accordance with legal requirements. His animals are registered with the District State Agrarian Development Center and provided with relevant veterinary services by the Goygol Veterinary and Animal Health Center.
It was added that the resident temporarily placed his animals in the village area due to weather conditions, intending to move them to the highland pastures. The animals are expected to be moved to the highlands in the coming days.
It should be noted that residents have also appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ganja regional group of the Ministry reported that an investigation is being conducted regarding the incident between the parties based on a complaint received by the "102" service. Legal assessment will be given based on the investigation results.
