European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that €50 million will be allocated to Yerevan in response to Russia's export restrictions.
Oxu.Az reports that Reuters, citing the European Commission, published the news.
During a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, von der Leyen called Russia's actions economic pressure and unacceptable. While criticizing Moscow, she also noted that the EU has imposed the most economic sanctions on third countries over the past five years, highlighting its experience in this area.
Von der Leyen emphasized the EU's firm support for Armenia and stated that a special support package including €50 million in financial aid is being prepared.
It is recalled that Russia recently restricted imports of mineral water, fish, alcoholic beverages, fruits and vegetables, and other products from Armenia.
