Organs in the human body do not age at the same rate. This information was provided by oncologist Ilya Kolyshev.
The expert emphasized that biological age does not always match the functional state of individual organs and systems.
Kolyshev stated that the fastest aging organ is the thymus gland. From about age 21, it is gradually replaced by fatty tissue.
According to him, adipose tissue, blood vessels, cardiovascular cells, bone marrow, and intestines also age quickly.
Meanwhile, aging processes in the brain and liver are slower. The liver maintains high regenerative capacity for a long time.
The oncologist added that the slowest aging tissue is bone tissue.
The expert stressed that there is no universal drug to prevent aging. A healthy lifestyle plays a crucial role.
