The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Venezuela on June 24 has reached 2,954.
According to Oxu.Az, the Information and Communication Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic reported this on its Telegram channel.
The ministry stated that 16,592 people were injured and 16,309 were left homeless. 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 were severely damaged.
During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were rescued. Additionally, 22,445 people received treatment in hospitals and other medical facilities. A total of 86,794 affected families received assistance, including 9,486 tons of food.
Recall that the earthquake occurred on the evening of June 24. Two strong tremors of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded about 40 seconds apart. The epicenters were located in Yaracuy state, about 10 kilometers apart.
