Intense heatwaves in France have caused the Eiffel Tower to expand.
According to RTL TV, architect Bertrand Lemoine stated that when temperatures fluctuate from -10°C to +40°C, the tower's height increases by about 10 cm.
This translates to roughly 2 cm for every 10°C change. The phenomenon is due to the puddled iron used in the tower's construction, which expands under heat.
