A 24-year-old Auckland resident, Lisa Reid, accidentally hit her head on a coffee table and regained her sight after 13 years of blindness.
According to Oxu.Az, the miraculous recovery was reported by "Scoop".
Lisa lost her vision at age 11 due to a brain tumor. After surgery, the tumor was removed, but her optic nerves were damaged. Doctors declared her condition irreversible.
However, 13 years later, Lisa bumped her head on a table while leaning to kiss her guide dog. The next morning, she woke up and discovered her vision had returned.
Doctors have been unable to explain the event, with some speculating that the blindness may have been psychosomatic.
