Scientists from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have developed a miniature underwater suit for cyborg cockroaches.
The suit allows the insects to stay submerged for up to three hours.
3D-printed, the suit protects the cockroach's breathing holes from water.
Oxygen is generated from a reaction between hydrogen peroxide and manganese dioxide.
In tests, cockroaches moved at a depth of 50 cm and survived.
The technology is intended for disaster zones and future Mars exploration.
