The Iran-US conflict has dealt a heavy blow to the French economy. The government is now seeking ways to further reduce budget spending.
According to Oxu.Az, citing French Economy Minister Roland Lescure's statement to TASS, the situation is dire.
Lescure noted that the war with Iran has cost the French budget at least 6 billion euros. Everything depends on the implementation of the US-Iran agreement, which restored shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Bank of France and the National Statistics Institute predict economic growth of only 0.5-0.7% in 2026, instead of the budgeted 1%. These forecasts were made before the ceasefire. Uncertainty persists, and the situation will become clearer after the Q3 results.
