Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, who left Russia, has been banned from selling his elite apartment in central Moscow.
According to Oxu.Az, citing the Telegram channel "Mash," the property is located in the Khamovniki district of Moscow and is valued at over 176 million rubles (approximately $2.1 million).
The 297-square-meter apartment is the largest in the building. Kasparov inherited it from his mother in 2021. It is reported that there are no utility debts on the apartment.
Bailiffs imposed the ban due to fines related to Kasparov's failure to label his social media posts as those of a "foreign agent." The ban includes sale, donation, or transfer of ownership.
Currently, the 63-year-old Kasparov faces three fines totaling 90,000 rubles (about $1,060) for this reason.
