After a powerful earthquake in Venezuela, rescuers continue to find survivors trapped under rubble.
According to CBS News, US rescue teams operating in Caracas reported the discovery.
Rescuers have been trying for six days to extract 44-year-old Herman Gil Flores, who was in the underground parking lot of a collapsed 10-story building. He worked as a guard and sustained no injuries; water has been provided, but debris removal is slow due to the risk of further collapse.
Local officials say nearly 6,500 people have been rescued, while 51,000 remain missing.
The earthquake struck on the evening of June 24. Two consecutive tremors of magnitude 7.2-7.5 were recorded, with epicenters in Yaracuy state. Official reports indicate 1,943 deaths, 10,571 injuries, and 28,380 people receiving medical aid.
