A previously unknown comet has burned up in the Sun.
Russia's Space Research Institute reported that the object had no official name or catalog number. Scientists say it was a small rock formed billions of years ago.
The gravity of giant planets directed it straight toward the Sun. It flared up moments before its death and then vanished.
