Washington is using the 'carrot and stick' method in resolving disputes with Iran.

According to Oxu.Az citing Fox News, US Vice President JD Vance spoke about this.

'In recent weeks, Iranians have not attacked ships. The safe passage of oil through the Strait of Hormuz is partly due to the US president's clear statement that we will strike back if ships are attacked. Sometimes you need both reward and punishment in such matters,' he said.

Vance emphasized that the US receives both positive and negative signals from Tehran in the negotiation process. He expressed hope that diplomatic efforts will succeed.

'The president tasked us: work on the problem, monitor where the negotiations lead. If diplomatic approaches do not provide a successful solution, we still have many options and we have already achieved enough for US citizens,' the vice president added.
