Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan admitted that the country is not yet ready to obtain candidate status for European Union membership.
Speaking at a briefing, he said that Armenia objectively has not implemented enough reforms to achieve this status.
Pashinyan emphasized that a referendum on leaving the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will only be possible when there are concrete steps towards EU membership.
He also noted that Armenia cannot be expelled from the EAEU because decisions are made by consensus and Yerevan has a veto right.
It is worth noting that parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia on June 7, with 18 political forces participating.
