Debates and disputes continue in Iran over the Memorandum of Understanding signed last week to halt the war between Iran and the US and begin two-month negotiations for a final agreement.
According to Oxu.Az, this is discussed in a video prepared by the "Free Iran" YouTube channel. The disputes, including objections to negotiations with the US, began after the memorandum text was leaked to the media.
On June 18, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's address to the nation shifted the debates around the agreement. Khamenei stated that he had a different position on the document but allowed its signing because President Pezeshkian and other members of the Supreme National Security Council committed to protecting the rights of the Iranian people and the "Resistance Front."
This not only placed responsibility on Pezeshkian but also made him a target for radical circles. Notable eulogist Mohammad Ali Bakhshi threatened Pezeshkian with terror from the pulpit.
