The head of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Major General Mursal Ibrahimov, announced that legislation on deferments for students studying abroad may be amended.

He stressed that evasion of service under the guise of education deferments creates opportunities for corruption: "We must put an end to these issues."

Ibrahimov noted that deferments are granted in accordance with the law, but some individuals attempt to obtain them with forged documents. He urged conscripts to check the list of recognized educational institutions on the website of the Education Quality Assurance Agency.

He stated that new norms are being prepared and will be implemented soon.
