Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law sharply increasing state fees for migrants. According to the document, the fee for obtaining Russian citizenship has been raised 12 times.
As reported by Oxu.Az, the law was published on the official legal information portal. Citizenship fees increased from 4,200 rubles (approx. $46) to 50,000 rubles (approx. $550).
Temporary residence permits rose 8-fold, from 1,920 rubles ($21) to 15,000 rubles ($165). Permanent residence permits increased 5-fold, from 6,000 rubles ($66) to 30,000 rubles ($330).
Additionally, the fee for hiring foreign specialists reaches 15,000 rubles ($165) per person. However, certain categories are exempt: former USSR citizens, participants of the state resettlement program, and stateless persons.
Foreigners who signed military contracts with the Russian Armed Forces during the "special military operation" are also exempt from citizenship and permanent residence fees. These changes significantly increase the financial burden on migrants.
