First phone call between UAE and Iran

UAE and Iran foreign ministers held their first phone call after tensions in the Persian Gulf.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi for the first time since tensions began in the Persian Gulf region.

According to the UAE Foreign Ministry, the Emirati diplomat received Araghchi's call. The parties discussed the situation in the region after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran.

Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the importance of full compliance with all provisions of the agreement. He stated that serious diplomacy and responsible dialogue are the most optimal way to resolve all regional and international crises.
