US President Donald Trump may abandon some agreements reached with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their bilateral meeting last year in Anchorage, Alaska.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported by Axios portal citing its sources.
It was noted that Trump informed foreign leaders about this during the G7 summit in France.
Two officials at the summit said Trump expressed disappointment with Putin and hinted at possibly withdrawing from the Anchorage agreements.
Despite Trump's skeptical stance, other G7 leaders do not believe he will actually take any steps in this direction, the source said.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US and Russian presidents did not reach final agreements on Ukraine settlement in Anchorage.
The meeting of the Russian and US leaders took place on August 15, 2025, at a military base near Anchorage. In a press statement on the outcomes, Putin said the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine was the main topic. He called for opening a new page in bilateral relations and invited Trump to Moscow. Trump, in turn, noted progress but said the parties could not agree on all issues.
