Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Geneva to sign a deal with the United States.
According to "The New York Times," citing Iranian officials, Vice President JD Vance will represent the US at the signing ceremony planned for June 19.
The publication notes that this would be the highest-level meeting between Washington and Tehran in 47 years.
In an interview with Fox News, JD Vance did not rule out President Donald Trump also traveling to Geneva: "We are still working out logistics. I'll definitely be there, but there's a possibility the president himself will attend."
The US, Iran, and mediator Pakistan have confirmed the agreement. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that during a 60-day ceasefire, issues such as lifting sanctions, the nuclear program, economic recovery, and a monitoring mechanism will be discussed.
The deputy minister emphasized that talks depend on US steps, including cessation of military operations, lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, and unfreezing Iranian assets.
