The official rules for leasing agricultural land in Horovlu village, Jabrayil district, have been revealed. Starting April 27, applications will be accepted through the EKTIS portal (eagro.az).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, initially only residents of Horovlu village can apply, with the deadline set for May 27. The land plots are located around the village, each at least 5 hectares, irrigated and ready for cultivation.

The leasing process follows Presidential Decree and Cabinet of Ministers decision, offering preferential terms for local residents.

Horovlu farmers can grow a variety of crops: apples, pears, persimmons, peaches, nectarines, apricots, pomegranates, grapes, strawberries, currants, blueberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, onions, green beans, beets, carrots, cabbage, watermelons, melons, wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, lettuce, potatoes, and sugar beets. Modern drip or sprinkler irrigation systems are mandatory.

The application process has three steps: register on EKTIS to get an automated farmer e-cabinet; fill out the "Land Lease Application" form selecting "Horovlu"; and confirm actual residence in Horovlu via the "e-polis" app from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Contract signing, training, and on-site orientation will take place between June 1 and July 31. Lease duration is 2 years for annual crops and alfalfa, and 5 years for perennials, with possible extension based on results.

This is a great opportunity for those interested in agriculture. For more details, check land lease rules.
