The persistent windy weather affecting Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will continue throughout the day on April 28, but it is expected to weaken significantly by late evening, according to the National Hydrometeorology Service.

Gulshad Mammadova, director of the Hydrometeorological Forecasts Bureau, confirmed to Oxu.Az that wind speeds will begin to decrease from the night hours of April 28.

The current northwesterly winds have been blowing at 15-20 meters per second during the day, but are predicted to drop to 5-10 m/s overnight. This change will bring much-needed relief to residents.

Authorities advise people to avoid open areas near construction sites and billboards, and caution that maritime and transport operations may face temporary restrictions until conditions stabilize.

Temperatures have also been lower than average due to the wind, but a gradual warming is expected as the winds calm. This April has recorded some of the strongest gusts since January.
