The Asian Development Bank (ADB) warns that insufficient urban financing threatens the development of half the world's population.
Srinivas Sampath, Director of ADB's Urban Development Division, stated at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku that 75% of Asia's GDP comes from cities.
He emphasized: "Without ensuring adequate funding for urban agglomerations, we will effectively slow the development of 50% of the world's population."
