An official of the Islamic Development Bank stated that Azerbaijan can contribute to the development of the halal economy and play an important role in forming regional halal value chains.
Oxu.Az reports that Samer Elesavi, head of the IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur, said this during his speech at the Halal Forum organized as part of the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.
According to him, strengthening regional ties and developing new trade routes create an opportunity for Azerbaijan to play a key role in forming halal value chains:
"For the sustainable development of the global halal economy, expanding trade alone is not enough; it is also necessary to promote strong value chains, investment mechanisms, and knowledge exchange. The halal economy is not only a matter of trade and certification but also an important tool for promoting food security, sustainable development, innovation, and social welfare."
