Azerbaijan starts buying gasoline from Belarus and Kazakhstan

Azerbaijan imported gasoline from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Romania, and Russia in Q1 2025. Import volumes and values are disclosed.

In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 530 tons of AI-98 gasoline worth $650,200.

This is a 19% decrease in value and 18% in volume compared to the same period in 2024.

Import sources expanded: 239.4 tons from Belarus ($293,500), 168.7 tons from Romania ($206,800), and 122.3 tons from Russia ($150,000).

Supplies from Belarus resumed after a 16-month pause.

Romania accounted for 45.2% of AI-98 imports, Russia for 40.1%.

During the same period, 44,509 tons of AI-95 gasoline worth $38.4 million were imported, up 47% in value and 44% in volume year-on-year.

AI-95 came mainly from Belarus ($9.92M, 11,823 tons), Russia ($9.91M, 11,396 tons), UAE ($7.6M, 9,000 tons), Greece ($5.38M, 6,033 tons), and Kazakhstan ($2.87M, 3,290 tons).

Kazakhstan supplies are the first in 16 years.

Azerbaijan also exported 5,517 tons of Premium gasoline worth $3.86 million, mainly to Georgia ($2.69M, 3,773 tons) and Armenia ($1.16M, 1,743 tons).
