Today, at the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue held in Baku, it was announced that Baku will host the US 2nd Global Artificial Intelligence Week this year.
According to Oxu.Az citing "Report", the meeting was organized within the framework of Baku Energy Week by the Ministry of Economy and the US Department of State, in accordance with the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and the US.
With the participation of Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Caleb Orr, a number of documents and the Protocol of the Dialogue were signed in the areas of digital infrastructure creation, technology transfer and efficient industrial solutions in Azerbaijan.
The first Economic Dialogue included panel sessions on regional connectivity, trade and transit, energy security, investments, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. The first session discussed the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the Middle Corridor, expansion of regional logistics opportunities, Azerbaijan's favorable business environment for investors, as well as new opportunities for US companies arising from the country's growing connections with Europe and Central Asia.
The energy security session reviewed cooperation opportunities in the development of the Southern Gas Corridor, electricity connections and increasing energy production. Diversification of supply chains, critical mineral supply chains and other partnership issues were discussed.
At the economic investments panel, issues of promoting economic projects serving the mutual welfare of both nations, including bilateral investments in transportation and logistics, energy and digital technologies, were discussed. Also, opportunities to promote US investments in various directions, including the Alat Free Economic Zone, which offers incentive mechanisms, advantages and favorable legal regime for investors, were in focus.
In discussions on artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, information on US high-tech solutions was provided. Cooperation in data centers, application of AI technologies, development of regulatory frameworks and future partnership in this field were considered. Within the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of expanding economic cooperation, promoting mutual investments and supporting innovative projects.
The event also included a meeting with business circles, noting the importance of developing cooperation between the private sector and establishing new partnerships.
