Huseyn Huseynov, advisor to the Minister of Economy, spoke at the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

He noted that 83% of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) remain unmet.

Huseynov emphasized that integrating SDGs into urban planning is not a choice but a necessity.

Azerbaijan has submitted four Voluntary National Reviews and aligned over 50 state programs with SDG targets.

The country's national agenda is based on green growth, renewable energy, energy transition, climate resilience, and smart city development.

Renewable energy is planned to reach 24% of electricity generation by 2026. Digital infrastructure already covers 95% of the country.
