Tahir Rzayev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy, stated that food security can only be achieved by increasing agricultural productivity.

A meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev discussed challenges in the agrarian sector. State programs have supported entrepreneurship through subsidies, concessional loans, and tax breaks.

Currently, only 3.6 tons of cotton and 3.2 tons of grain are produced per hectare, which is insufficient for fertile lands. International benchmarks reach 70-80 centners per hectare.

A new State Program for 2026-2030 has been approved, allocating nearly 6 billion manats. The program focuses on innovation and scientific advancements to enhance productivity.
