Bond.az -- Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said Friday that British banks still cannot access Anthropic's new AI tool, despite a previous promise of early access.

Speaking to Bloomberg Television in Reykjavik, Bailey noted the importance of access given the risks. Banks are using other models to test cyber defenses.

Anthropic announced in April it would give UK banks early access to its AI tool, Mythos, which can automatically discover unknown software bugs.

Bailey said the Glasswing project has been in development for six weeks but not yet implemented, partly due to delays with the US administration.

He urged international cooperation: "Spillovers from cyber risk are so big that we cannot have just a national approach."
