Azerbaijan's insurance market has grown by over 17% in the last five years.
This was announced by Abas Miskərli, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, during a speech at the Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF 2026).
According to him, in 2025 the insurance market expanded by 11% compared to the previous year. The volume of insurance payments also increased.
As a result, the share of insurance premiums in GDP rose to 1.63% in 2025.
Miskərli noted: "Over the past six years, large-scale awareness campaigns have been conducted to improve insurance literacy. Key goals for the coming years include increasing insurance penetration by 3-4 times, simplifying access to services, and eliminating existing protection gaps."
Currently, 16 participants operate in Azerbaijan's insurance market.
