Japan's Economy Grew in Q1, Driven by Exports

Japan's economy likely expanded for a second straight quarter in January-March, supported by recovering exports and solid domestic demand, a Reuters poll showed. GDP grew an annualized 1.7% in Q1.

Private consumption and capital investment remain firm. The Middle East tensions had limited negative impact so far.

However, analysts warn of downside risks from higher oil prices and supply constraints due to the Iran situation.
