Direct subsidies to agricultural producers are accepted as the main state support mechanism in the comprehensive development of the agrarian sector and ensuring food security. The new subsidy mechanisms promote regional specialization, application of innovative technologies, efficient use of land and water resources, and overall sustainable development.
This was stated by Khalid Ahadov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Socio-Economic Affairs, during a regional meeting in Ismayilli. He noted that the new State Program for 2026-2030 will ensure a transition to a qualitatively new stage.
Ahadov emphasized that the main goal is not just to increase production volume, but to achieve higher and better quality products per hectare - moving from extensive to intensive development. The program includes specific targets such as expansion of modern irrigation systems, increased productivity of wheat and cotton, and growth of livestock and aquaculture production.
