New Zealand's opposition Labour Party says the government's budget fails to address rising living costs.
Finance spokesperson Barbara Edmonds criticized the budget, saying Labour would make different choices.
Edmonds said Labour would reverse policies like interest deductibility changes and use revenue for cost-of-living relief.
She also noted the budget missed a chance to tackle productivity issues such as access to capital and innovation.
The government forecasts a return to surplus by 2029/30.
