Under the State Program for 2026-2030, increasing productivity in crop production, expanding intensive production, and forming modern agricultural infrastructure are planned.
According to Oxu.Az citing AZERTAC, this was stated by Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov at a regional meeting in Zangilan.
The minister noted that significant increase in productivity of strategic products is targeted. In specialized regions, wheat and cotton yields are planned to reach 50 centners per hectare.
Under the program, wheat production is expected to increase by about 20%, and cotton processing products by 4 times.
Expanding the area of high-yield intensive and super-intensive gardens by an additional 20,000 hectares is also a priority.
"Development of greenhouse farms is in focus. It is planned to increase greenhouse areas in the country to 2,000 hectares by 2030 and create a pilot greenhouse agropark in the East Zangezur economic region," the minister emphasized.
These measures will strengthen domestic market supply, increase export potential, and expand the application of modern technologies in agriculture.
